The Smithfield center is located near the Apple Valley Mall on Route 44. Our programs include child care and learning for infants, toddlers, preschool, kindergarten and school age children. Our school age before and after school program provides free transportation to and from the Smithfield elementary schools.
We utilize The Children’s Workshop Curriculum, a framework we developed that draws inspiration from the Creative Curriculum and the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards, which you will see in action in all our centers. Children retain more when they're having fun so our programs emphasize learning through play. Our curriculum provides a strong foundation for children's academic success and our teachers provide a warm, nurturing environment in which every child can be successful.
The center is open from 6:30am to 6:00pm. We also offer an exciting summer camp program.

Leah SouleHi my name is Leah and I am the Director of our Smithfield location.
I have been in the child care field for over 8 years. My first official job was a tiny tot teacher during college summer break. After graduating from Wheaton College with a BA in Psychology and General Education I went on to receive my RI Early Childhood Teacher Certificate. I worked as a preschool teacher, Assistant Director, Head Teacher, and Director. I worked for The Children's Workshop at our Pawtucket location from 2005 - 2007 before my husband and I moved to Virginia Beach, VA for three years. We returned home and I am so delighted to be back with this fantastic company!
When not working I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two dogs, friends and family. I enjoy scrap booking and searching stores for 50's and 70's retro finds!

We want to announce that because of the event of Parent's Night Out, our little family has taken a special step in life, we got engaged! This night helps parents spend some time with other, and do the things that may be hard to do without the care of a babysitter! The safe environment surrounded by the teachers they love allows the kids to play, and their parents to play too! We can not express our gratitude enough, and we are so happy to be a part of your little community!
